3D visualisation tool:

To explore the potential problems with the Ubisense real time locating system being applied to athletics events, 3D visualisation software has been developed to work with the RTLS data. This Java3D application takes live data from the Ubisense system or pre-recorded data from a database and presents it in a 3D environment. The environment can be navigated through freely or positioned to match a real camera view using camera positions from the database.

The 3D world has been set up to match test recordings at BBC Kingswood Warren but can be quickly adapted to suit other locations or removed to allow keying over captured video of the RTLS tracked event.

Ubisense message handler

The message handler is a logger which listens for location messages from the Ubisense system and stores it in a MySQL database ready to be played back in the 3d visualisation software.
